In our travels throughout Morocco we’ve learned so much about the weaving traditions of many tribal regions but we have never seen any rugs quite like this amazing Talsint beauty ~unique and very collectible. The extravagant and deeply rich purplish-pink background is complemented by bursts of knotted relief designs in orange, turquoise and black handspun nubby wool. These elements create a timeless representation of the symbols of traditional berber life in this region.
Woven by the Ait Bou Ichaouen tribe in remote northeastern Morocco near the Algerian border, these rugs are named after the largest town in the area where this nomadic Berber tribe originates. The carpet is fully reversible—very unusual and unlike most others found in Morocco. The weavers live in an isolated area that was relatively unknown in the world of carpets until the 1990's. In years past, these carpets were used as room dividers in tents. This beautiful vibrant palette will embellish a favorite room or wall that deserves a unique color burst.

PLEASE NOTE: Due to the handmade nature of these textiles, wear consistent with age and use is normal. This may include small worn areas, fraying and color bleeding.
